Traditional Woodworking Classes
Learning a craft is fundamentally different than learning a concept. You can hear all day about the species of wood, the angles of plane irons, the grits of sandpaper, and watch all the YouTube you want, it doesn't make you any better of a woodworker. It isn't until you feel the burr created when you sharpen a chisel do you know what sharp is, the snug fitness of a perfectly cut joint to you know what a well cut dovetail is, or feel the smoothness of a beautifully polished gentle satin finish do you know what finishing is. Not to mention the hundreds and hundreds of mistakes made as you're learning. The bottom line is that, "craftsmanship is risk." There is always something new to learn and a million attempts before the skill is actually developed. And I want to help with that. I want to actually help you grow in those skills, practice those techniques, experience the satisfaction of a personally crafting a beautifully handmade piece that will not only last and grow more beautiful with time.
